About SAW - A Hardcore Parody
Pornstars fear for their lives in this parody of the successful splatter franchise SAW. They are punished for their evil deeds, e.g. female abuse, criminal behaviour and flat-out stupidity. Naturally, the boys and girls aren't just offed in front of the camera - that wouldn't be spectacular enough. Someone has thought up a cunning plan to torture them as much as possible before they die. Plus, they have a fighting chance of escaping their fate if they figure out how to outsmart the torturing devices. Unfortunately, few of them do, so there's plenty of dismemberment in this movie: cocks and heads are chopped off, brains get blown out and eyes are poked out.

It wasn't exactly love at first sight with this title. In fact, I'm quite undecided about it (and that's not usually a good sign). Yes, it's funny and, yes, it's scary too. It's a good concept but the execution is lacking. The producers obviously spent a lot of money on some of the set-pieces - but not on all of them. Viewers might feel a bit distracted by that, i.e. you never know whether this is supposed to be shocking, sexy or just plain bizarre. The latter certainly applies to the scene where Ron Jeremy pokes an older lady on an office desk. Conclusion: it's a funny little movie with enough entertainment value to keep most viewers happy - as long as they lower their expectations. Just don't expect the kind of spectacle that the cover promises!
