About Fighters (Combo Pack)
When girls fight, they don't hold back. It might take more for them to actually become violent (compared to men) but once they get there, there's no stopping them. In FIGHTERS, the opponents couldn't be any more different: Riley grew up in a rich family and never had to bootstrap in her life. The only thing that's missing in her life is the attention of her dad. When he forgets about her birthday yet again, Riley works off her anger at the boxing gym. While Riley's boyfriend doesn't exactly like the idea of her getting her face smashed up in the ring, there's no way he can talk her out of it. Not only is she training like mad, she also intends to step into the ring as soon as possible.
Her equally attractive opponent is Jesse, a no-nonsense chick with a rough upbringing. She's got an axe to grind with one of her school friends for sleeping with her dad. And then there are all those school yard fights. The principal feels it's time for Jesse to change something about her life. This leads her blond protégé to take up boxing. After a while, Jesse begins to like the sport. Soon enough, she's ready for her first fight. And who else could be her adversary than Riley. Both girls have decided to say goodbye to their individual pasts, to move on to a better, more independent life. They're both tough as nails - but who will win?

Expectations for FIGHTERS are sky-high. It's yet another Digital Playground production with a seminal budget and production value that is hard to beat. Viewers can expect a killer cast, a first-class director and, naturally, outstanding quality. But what about the plot? Will it complement all the other first-rate ingredients? Now, you're probably expecting lots of footage depicting wild girls biting and scratching each other. But this kinda stuff is rather brief. Jesse puts up quite a fight - maybe she's a hot-blooded natural, I don't know. But those moments of violence are few and far between. And there's definitely no mud-wrestling. And while the actual boxing is only featured in one or two scenes, plus the ending, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Despite the cover design that hints at a pure sports porno, the story revolves around the girls' personal fights against their environment. They both need to become independent, to fight their way through life without anyone's help. The acting is quite convincing and the plot moves at a steady pace. Equally entertaining are the sex scenes that are interspersed throughout the two-and-a-half hour movie. While not as spectacular as PIRATES, FIGHTERS is porn of the highest order. Digital Playground once again prove that classy fare can be both entertaining and stimulating and hence deserves a place on the shelves too.
