Can a dry-as-bones porn flick possibly serve as a gender study? Well, Dana Vespoli doesn't go that far with GIRL/BOY but she nevertheless delivers an exceptional sex flick that does shed some light on role allocation. This is particularly evident in the scene starring Jiz Lee and Manuel Ferrara, but other scenes also revolve around sexual identity. Despite the rather artsy approach, this movie clearly aims to provide scenes that are both sexually and intellectually stimulating. It's a rather clever piece of hardcore, in fact.
