About Behind The Scenes Of An Adult Movie
Apart from interviews with various stars from the Golden Age of Porn (e.g. Georgina Spelvin, Veronica Hart and Ron Jeremy), this movie also features some outrageous behind-the-scenes footage (among other things, you can see how the performers try to memorise lines). The documentary bits are also interspersed with striptease and sex scenes from classic porn movies. But as with any good documentary, the scenes are always commented and dissected by director Joe Sherwin. This way, no one is left thinking they're just watching porn.

Although well-intended, some of the arguments presented in this Joe Sherwin documentary feel a bit outdated if not old-fashioned. Nevertheless, the movie does offer some interesting insights into the Golden Age of Porn. Some of the film clips are almost slapstick in nature (which is intended), while others come across as surprisingly levelheaded (generally in regard to bi-sexuality or family backgrounds). BEHIND THE SCENES OF AN ADULT MOVIE is certainly an exceptional documentary of an important period in porn filmmaking. It's just a shame that so many meaningless and ultimately unnecessary sex scenes were crammed into the movie near the end.
