About Portrait Of A Call Girl
A critical albeit pornographic view at the rough life of a call girl. Elle (Jessie Andrews) is a sweet young country girl who has an abusive stepfather and a neglecting mother. She escapes her nightmare home by moving to the city and working as a call girl. While she likes to provide sex for money, she also enjoys being sexually challenged. Her clients include married men who want to book her for a quick shag in a motel; two boys who desire a threesome; a harsh business man (Manuel Ferrara) who owns a fashionably designed villa and has a preference for bizarre rituals. Director Graham Travis has created a fascinating, highly interesting and extravagant piece of work that has 'Hollywood' written all over it. The visuals are sensational and the plot is surprisingly complex. Several story threads are interwoven and only resolved at the end. This is definitely not your average porn flick, even though the sex scenes are quite nasty at times. The feature film aspects are very dominant and also expertly fleshed out. PORTRAIT OF A CALL GIRL is no movie for romantics - it's too dark and depraved for that. Elle (Jessie Andrews) appears to enjoy the sex and doesn't mind more intense or painful practices. Andrews acting is excellent. I find this movie one of the most impressive adult flicks I've ever seen. That said, I have to add that I find it strange that Jessie is the only woman in this flick that gets fucked (all the other females - Hollywood extras? - have non-sex roles only). Also, I do find the plot a bit too ambitious for a porno. I wouldn't be surprised if some viewers lost track of all the story lines after a while. The producers of this movie were obviously keen on delivering an outstanding piece of entertainment. But I have to say, they might have overreached their goal by a tiny bit.

My colleague Peach Ball has written a lot about this rather impressive movie already, so I only wanna chime in with some thoughts on the visual aspects of PORTRAIT OF A CALL GIRL. I'm as fascinated by the images as by the lead performer. This is one promising young talent! And I'm not just talking about her looks, mind you. This girl is a multi-faceted personality who is totally fearless when it comes to baring it all for the lens (the only thing she doesn't do is anal sex). She looks great - with or without makeup - and gives her all during the sex scenes. This is one movie that actually deserves all the pre-release hype! I was entertained from beginning to end. Even better, I still have the hots for this girl. That's exactly the kind of reaction you wanna get from an adult flick that aims to be a feature film! An excellent effort.
