The cover of this movie directed by porn (and punk) veteran Jim Powers looks quite promising and hints at a couple-friendly title. The sex in SUMMER LOVERS is indeed pretty tender and not as crass as in other XXX-rated flicks, but it isn't exactly couple-friendly, to be honest. It just doesn't have enough inspired moments to qualify for that particular label. Cover chick (and ORGAZMIK 'Eye-Catcher') Riley Reid does deliver an outstanding performance, though. At 104 minutes, SUMMER LOVERS is a bit too short for its own good - and the picture quality is also lacking throughout. On the whole, a slightly above average production but really nothing to write home about.
