About The Valley
In true film noir fashion, director Sam Hain sends his protagonist Detective Marlowe (Tommy Pistol) to the notorious San Fernando Valley to look for the missing daughter of one of his clients. Marlowe suspects she's being held by shady porn producers who are exploiting her for their own sinister cause. As the private dick penetrates deeper into the seedy end of the porn business, he gets bogged down in a morass of sleaze and depravity. Will our fearless protagonist be swallowed up by the powers of darkness or will he eventually free the curvy runaway from her captors?

After sci-fi porn parodies like HORIZON and STAR TREK, whizkid director Sam Hain takes us on a film noir (or should I say 'porn noir'?) journey through THE VALLEY. The story revolves around a private dick who has to find the missing daughter of one of his clients. In the infamous 'Porn Valley', he gets lost amidst abysmal perversions, dark intrigue and lots of dead end leads. The brilliant Tommy Pistol stars as the detective, while top sex starlets like Andy San Dimas, ORGAZMIK 'Eye-Catchers' Chastity Lynn and Katie St. Ives as well as Lizz Tayler fill the supporting roles. The male roles are star-studded as well and include James Deen, Anthony Rosano and Brian Street Team. While the concept of mixing film noir with porn isn't exactly new, director Sam Hain infuses the genre-pastiche with some great technical wizardry. It's a shame that the sex scenes don't pack more of a wallop, even though the movie is relatively light on plot (compared to Hain's earlier stuff). But when you look at the movie as a whole and marvel at what is probably one of the year's best lesbo scenes and at the undeniable technical prowess on display in THE VALLEY, any kind of criticism becomes moot. Sam Hain is way ahead of his competition, that's for sure. I can't but give this movie five stars, even though I expected a little more from Hain. But there's simply no denying it: this director is far ahead of his peers!
