This movie is unique in this genre because Radley Metzger actually bought the rights to turn the best-selling novel NAKED CAME THE STRANGER into a movie. He really did buy all the rights to make this movie! The result is an explicit erotic classic. By the way, Metzger managed to outdo himself with his next movie, THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN, which he turned into an international success - despite it being a hardcore movie.
