In CABARET DESIRE, it's mostly girls that work the poles - both on stage and in the male audience's pants. There are male strippers too and Erika Lust captures their shows in a couple-friendly fashion that should appeal in particular to female audiences as well. She chooses her performers (both sexes) carefully and avoids casting slutty girls (that isn't to say the women in this flick are all emancipated hags, of course). The girls simply look like natural. The men are chisel-faced beaus, interesting too look at but, fortunately, never arrogant. When the sexes meet, the sparkle of the moment is captured in sober images that - while stylish and glossy - never feel too artistically contrived. The sex favours each gender equally yet doesn't exclude passion. Au contraire, really - both sexes try to push themselves to extremes during the coupling. A threesome or a girl/girl experiment is more than welcome. At 74 minutes the movie is rather short (not counting the 25 minutes of bonus footage), but at least it's still of acceptable length. I find CABARET DESIRE very interesting. Erika Lust is a confident pornographer; she's not a smart-ass or a high-brow intellectual but someone who knows how to shoot porno that is appealing to both sexes (with a slight bias towards female audiences, of course).
