About Drive Thru
No one can seriously claim that the wonderful world of porn reinvents itself on a daily basis. That's why if someone tries something really new it deserves being spotlighted. This is the case with DRIVE THRU, a fuck-flick shot in Prague with an extraordinary basic concept: The whole of a scene is shot in one piece with only one camera and is not cut afterwards. As this makes stage-directions virtually impossible they were abolished altogether.
In this case the six scenes present themselves as follows: a female (one specimen) and a male (also one specimen) simply enjoy each other as they see fit. That the scenes are still of a certain length and that there's a variety of positions, might be explained by a the experience of the cast.
As extras there's an almost quarter-hour 'behind the scenes', a cum-shot recap, a photo gallery, 18 minutes of strip-tease action with all six girls and some trailers.

To just let the action run through is a good idea per se - but you somehow don't really notice it in a wall-to-wall fuck-flick. It's much more noticeable that it takes almost two hours before one of the eastern chicks gets a rod up her ass. And anyway, what's with all the fucks being 1-on-1? Would it have turned too chaotic without directions? Or what? The concept only gets exciting towards the end when the camera gets hit by some lubricant - what is camera-man 'Quasarman' going to do?! If you overlook the whole non-stop thing, DRIVE THRU is an alright fuck-flick, without frills, but with a cast of first-rate Eastern chicks (including discovery Demi). Which isn't bad now, is it.

Greg Alves' experiment of shooting a movie with (almost) no stage directing can be said to have failed. Failed in the sense that the sex doesn't come across as any more 'uninhibited' than in any other porn movie. Aside from that, it seems the actors didn't quite know what to do with their great new freedom, we're seeing only the usual routine. All in all the sex even seems a little more uninventive (and definitly tamer) than when you have a director screaming his head off from the off. Well, DRIVE THRU isn't a bad movie, couldn't be with this kind of cast. All I'm trying to say is that Greg Alvares has certainly not reinvented the wheel with this flick; only where public relations is concerned maybe.
