About Hercules
With DOUBLE FEATURE Jonathan Morgan established himself not only as the perfect director for big-budget porn vehicles but also as the industry's leading comedian. HERCULES is another one of his costly productions that will either have you laughing your ass off or wanking yourself into a coma.
Based on the fantastical exploits of the eponymous Greek hero, Morgan's HERCULES has the dim-witted beefcake (played by Evan Stone) and his friend Theseus (Randy Spears) combine forces against Hera's (Julia Ann) increasingly inventive ordeals. All the while Hercules, who's not exactly blessed with a high IQ, adds plenty of comic relief to the thrilling story. And, of course, there's a whole series of adventures of the sexual kind too: eight scenes filled with anal sex, lesbo orgies, and other perversities that could have only been invented by the gods themselves. The credits read like a veritable Who's who of US porn and list cameo appearances by such genre greats as Ron Jeremy and Mike Horner.
Herculean effort went into the presentation of the bonus materials too; it's all here--from Making Of to Outtake reel, from a multi-angle cumshot feature to alternate versions of various scenes. Hell, they even fit in audio commentaries by Jonathan Morgan and two of his stars. A comprehensive package.

|
HERCULES is a classic case of 'too much of a good thing': while the overabundance of bonus materials is more than welcome, the movie's running time of more than two hours feels rather tiring. The sex scenes are okay (as you'd expect from an all-star cast like this), but the frequently used condoms are an eye-sore. The picture quality is even less joyous, especially during the many night scenes. Not as entertaining as Jonathan Morgan's DOUBLE FEATURE, but nevertheless a wacky and witty comedy recommended for fans of adult feature films.

Didn't exactly blow me out of my socks--er, stockings. Costumes and locations are fine and nicely captured but the performances are poor; hot sex scenes are few and far between, and generally brief. Still, the chicks are cute and tastily dressed, the story has plenty of humour, and the location shots are terrific.
