About Euphoria
Upon its release in 2001 on video, EUPHORIA garnered a shitload of awards (best movie, screenplay, director, cast et al) at various ceremonies. Not only is it the most refined work by ambitious filmmaker Brad Armstrong, but one of the most exciting in the history of adult movies. Lots of effort obiously also went into the adaption of the movie for DVD being released the following year - which obviously paid off full tilt.
EUPHORIA's skillfully constructed story takes us into the future, as Melina (Sydnee Steele) volunteers as a human guinea pig for some newly developed sex drug. During the testing Melina discovers the sinister secret behind the pharmaceutical sensation. And there's even bigger surprises lurking around the corner.
Presented in widescreen, EUPHORIA consists of nine scenes in all kinds of fancy sceneries. Sidney Steele's many devoted fans will be stoked by her doing no less than five of them, including bacchanal orgies and lesbian debauchery. Brad Armstrongs confident direction with its all-star cast, elaborate use of colors, bizarre characters and ultra-groovy soundtrack (using elements of drum'n'bass, house and dub) reminds of the likewise lavish productions by Michael Ninn (NEW WAVE HOOKERS 5).
One more thing to be excited about is the sheer quantity of extras included: full-length commentary by Brad Armstrong, multi-angle, 18 biographies, 15 galleries, a top-notch 'making of' running 61 minutes, 63 minutes of additional 'behind the scenes'-material, seven minutes of 'deleted scenes', 21 minutes of 'extended scenes', a music clip starring Asia Carrera, eleven minutes of modelling shots, seven minutes of 'bloopers' and 39 minutes of interviews.

EUPHORIA delivers friggin cool production design up to and including even the credits' font, an entertaining story (you might hear that every once in a while, but this time it's acually true) with a surprise twist ending and tasty sex. Contrary to the sex in some of Brad Armstrongs earlier works like FLASHPOINT the frolicking in this one really quickens your pulse (despite the consistent use of jimmyhats, shucks!) - one of Sydnee Steele's lesbo scenes holds its ground against her raunchiest. And providing over three and a half hours of extras is definitely a first. To make a long review short: for everyone calling himself a serious porn fiend there's simply no way around this lavish and elaborate production - euphoria where euphoria is due.

Another big-budget blast by Brad Armstrong (DREAM QUEST), EUPHORIA more than holds its ground against mainstream productions and the all-star sex is raunchy and intense (speculum et al). Despite the euphoria surrounding this title and the pile of extras DREAM QUEST will not have to fear for its place in the sun regarding porn history. Sci-fi-porn aficionados should not be put off by this remark, since EUPHORIA lives up to the expectations and the hype and delivers highest-class adult entertainment.
