Kendo is known for his experimental streak. This movie is another one of his unique visual events. PAST TIMES features a lot of effects but never runs the risk of losing itself in them. For my taste, Kendo does a great job here. The mood is very rich and the old times really do come to life in this flick. At the same time the sex scenes feel very contemporary. PAST TIMES is an arty affair with lots of visual frills and is therefore only recommended for people who are willing to indulge Kendo's vision. If you're willing to enter his world, you will be richly rewarded!
