About The Skin Trade
AVN-award winner and director Joe Gallant has landed a hit with THE SKIN TRADE, it'll sure get him some laurels. In his mix of brilliant HD-quality and super-8 sequences the viewer keeps switching from "ordinary porn" to sequences that are reminiscent of such classics as DEEP THROAT and other sex-films from the early days of porn. ORGAZMIK 'Eye-Catcher' Sasha Grey excels in her role of girl with a past. She is looking for happiness and success in Hollywood and keeps finding people who do not have her best interest at heart. Her body is abused and she experiences what many before have; lured into bed with promises of glory only to end up out in the street after a quick shag. It was unavoidable, a final drop of sperm gets the barrel to overflow and Sasha, in her role as Janet Oberling, takes violent revenge. In further (cameo) roles: Kelly Wells, Lexi Bardot, Natasha Stone, Laurie Varga and Rachel Luv.

The award-winning porn-filmer and Jazz-bassist Joe Gallant delivers an excellent sin-flick with THE SKIN TRADE. Formally it's nigh-on impossible to categorise this flicklet. The image goes to and from between royal high-definition production and nostalgic super-8 aesthetics, the soundtrack is jazzy (what else). The plot (poor, abused country-bumpkin Sasha Grey takes revenge on evil pornistas) isn't exactly novel, but the treatment of the story by Joe Gallant is exceptional. The sex is hefty when Kelly Wells really gets going and somehow cute when the hot-blooded Latina Laurie Vargas gets it up the ass. Towards the end there bloom reminiscences of freaky hippie-romances at the showdown in the desert. Masterpiece-alert!

There's really only one thing I don't like about this grand film which stands apart from "ordinary" porn: Why is Kelly Wells fucking in the first chapter? Kelly Fuckin' Wells is and remains Kelly Fuckin' Wells, she can't play any roles. The film runs the risk at the beginning to not get the attention it should because Wells takes it all. Then the story continues, Wells doesn't turn up anymore, and the fascination grows. I wouldn't be surprised if we heard about this flick again. At the latest at the ORGAZMIK AWARDS 2007.
