About Night Dreams
"I know you are watching me! I feel dirty..." Ms. Van Houten (Dorothy Le May) is a bored housewife who lives with a boring, booze-addled husband in a boring suburb. She is constantly under surveillance from a group of scientists and shrinks who want to know whether she has some sort of sex trauma. Houten's fantasies are sexy, strange and sometimes terrifying; in them she has sex with a mean-spirited clown and beelzebub himself, with two lesbian cowgirls, Arab men; she has fantasies about getting raped in a washroom and about an embryo in place of a penis. These visions are a total enigma to the doctors. But then, couldn't it be the other way around and the doctors are the ones being examined?

Legendary smut flick directed by American ad man/art director Stephen Sayadian (who allegedly drew up the one-sheet for Brian de Palma's 1980 cult classic DRESSED TO KILL - see his framing of the opening rape scene for proof). Most of the crew members seem to be Hollywood regulars instead of porno vets (e.g. screenwriter Jerry Stahl and cameraman Frank Delia). Looks like they had some fun making self-coscious, intellectual and rather unusual porn movies in the early 80s. Sayadian made another porn milestone in 1981: CAFE FLESH. Needless to say, both movies are must-sees!
