About Art School Sluts

Just in case it should still be unclear after 'Creamses' eloquence: ART SCHOOL SLUTS is less a movie for an audience looking for merciless hefty action and the sauciest possible chicks, but rather for the ones who like a stylistic challenge, who lust for new things above all. Or, to stick with Cream: I much prefer - I know, I know wet-blanket alert - to see the jizz on a girl's face than in a mohawk hairdo ... but I do appreciate Mr McKai's inventiveness.

Every now and then, 'VCA' give a young wacko from the 'creative scene' a chance at making a movie for them. The results of these 'youth promotions' are usually very exciting (just think of HYSTERIA by Darren Kaye). With ART SCHOOL SLUTS it is Eon McKai, an acclaimed photgrapher for a range of 'alternative-porn' sites. It becomes clear in the first few minutes, that Eon McKai has passed muster, passed with flying colours as a matter of fact. You could even go as far as to say that McKai, beside Katja Kassin, is the real star of the movie. The stuff this newbie director (just about 24 years old at the time of the shooting) throws at us in ART SCHOOL SLUTS is amazing. Just like his role-models Alex DeRenzy and Gregory Dark, he manages to combine art and pornography in such a way that even Andy Warhol would likely applaud. In one of my favourite scenes a punk doesn't shoot his jizz onto the face of his partner, but smears the stuff into his own 'mohawk'-hair. Scenes the likes of which you rarely see in porn. Of course there's also wet blowjobs, and bone-dry analsex with sweet girls in ART SCHOOL SLUTS. Form-wise, Eon McKai uses simple video-experiments, sometimes a bit of soft-focus, high-key and low-key effects. This lad obviously knows what he's doing! The 'costume' is youthful streetwear and the girls' make-up reminds one of the goth-chicks in the GOTHSEND series (by DVSX). The soundtrack too was carefully selected and has nothing in common with the usual cheap sound-fuzz you get in other porn-movies. By the way: The 'behind the scenes' was shot by Alice Suicide (Suicide Girls). ART SCHOOL SLUTS is a great, shrill, surrealistic porn with an arty component. What, you don't get this movie? Never mind, discourse is dead!

I'm torn between exaltation and confusion. The sound is wild and the camera-work is tumultuous to say the least. The whole thing is making me nervous and I tend to fast forward. I conclude: This movie does not grab me. The girls seem muddled and I feel as if I was watching some cut-rate college-sex report. Nope, I only truly like very few bits; the girl dancing in the party-room for instance. It looks childish, but it makes a change. If you like flower-chains and Mickey Mouse underwear you'll like this flick. I reckon this movie is too strongly aimed at a male audience. I did like the threesome-scene which at least seems more grown-up and the shaven pussies are of course to my liking too. One other thing I noticed: The cast are very young and look very 'fresh'.
