The porn spoof of the controversial drug flick BLOW (starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz) starts out quite promising, but loses steam halfway through its running time. Things do, however, get a bit more exciting during the last third - right up until the surprise ending. Director Stormy Daniels's decision to take the lead role might have had a negative effect on the overall story-telling. And the cast is a bit of a mixed affair. I get the feeling Daniels didn't want any popular newcummers on the cast because she was afraid they would steal her thunder. This leads to rather lukewarm and reserved sex scenes whenever the director isn't creating havoc herself. On a more positive note, though, the production values of BLOW are very high. It's a highly professional product with a great soundtrack. Having said that, though, I still feel that this movie is only slightly above average.
