About Horat
HORAT is Vincenzo Piano's porn spoof of Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Borat'.
In the original, Borat Sagdiyev (an openly anti-semitic TV reporter from Kazakhstan) is assigned by the Ministry of the Interior to go to the USA and study the American people and their customs. The government of Kazakhstan hopes to profit from Borat's findings. As it turns out, Borat's road trip is one endless laugh-a-thon that culminates in a meeting with sex icon Pamela Anderson.
In HORAT, the eponymous lead character (played by Tommy Pistol) is sent from 'Kaksuckistan' to the USA to study the sexual preferences of the Americans. Horat makes sure that he fulfills the assignment with full, er, force. Cue some hanky-panky with Western girls, including threesomes, anal sex and facials. Even two lesbians in a tattoo parlour fall for Horat. The things you do for a green card...

I almost wet my pants when I saw the original Borat movie for the first time. I've always been a fan of Baron Cohen and consider the feature film version of Borat his masterpiece. My first reaction to this here DVD was that it will probably suck. One look at the cast list and things started to look a bit more promising: Tommy Pistol and some yummy girls (Faith Leon, Nautica Thorn, Gia Paloma) - hey, this might actually work! And the result is indeed a pleasant surprise. A strong cast, nasty sex that isn't too coarse (but still includes anal, snowballing etc.) and a healthy dose of humor. Made on a shoestring, Vincenzo Piano's HORAT is a funny, couple-friendly adult movie. Piano even scored most of the soundtrack himself. The man's definitely an 'auteur'!

Is Horat better than Borat? No, but he's almost as good as the original. The two characters are almost identical - which isn't necessarily a good thing. Then again, the more authentic the copy, the more fun the movie. Even better, Horat scores higher than the original by actually delivering those 'sexy-time' moments! This is definitely one of the best spoofs of 2008 (shot in 2007). Had it been released earlier, it would have made the nominations for the ORGAZMIK Awards 2009. If you liked Borat's escapades, you'll definitely dig HORAT. I'd definitely welcome a sequel to this (rather than wait for the porn spoof of Baron Cohen's latest, BRÜNO).
